Congratulations to the winners and participants of the 17th Annual Sustainable Santa Monica Student Poster Contest, presented by the City of Santa Monica and Sustainable Works. This year’s theme, Think Globally, Grow Locally: Cultivating Sustainable Food through Community Gardens and Urban Farming, was presented to 34 classes at public and private schools and after school programs in Santa Monica. Students learned about the many benefits of our community gardens and urban farms as well as the opportunities for the community to get involved. This year’s contest reached over 800 students and resulted in 458 poster submissions.

The contest was open to kindergarten through 12th grade students who live and/or attend school in Santa Monica.

We’d also like to give a big shout out to all the teachers who encouraged their students to participate in the contest by allowing us to offer in person or video presentations to their students.
