Congratulations to the winners and participants of the 18th Annual Sustainable Santa Monica Student Poster Contest, presented by the City of Santa Monica and Sustainable Works. This year’s theme, Reducing Emissions While Creating Resilient Communities, was presented to 34 classes at public and private schools and after school programs in Santa Monica. Students learned about the positive ways Santa Monica is helping reduce carbon emissions and supporting residents and the community as we face a warming climate.

This year’s contest reached over 650 students and resulted in 400 poster submissions.

The contest was open to kindergarten through 12th grade students who live and/or attend school in Santa Monica.

We’d also like to give a big shout out to all the teachers who encouraged their students to participate in the contest by allowing us to offer in person or video presentations to their students.
