Celebrating Sustainable Excellence at the 29th Annual Sustainable Quality Awards
The 29th Annual Sustainable Quality Awards (SQA), co-hosted by the City of Santa Monica and Sustainable Works, took place on April 30th at the stunning Annenberg Community Beach House. The event honored the 2025 SQA winners for their outstanding achievements in integrating sustainable practices into their business operations.
Since its inception in 1994, the SQA has recognized over 230 awards presented to 173 local businesses, celebrating excellence in environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and economic development.
Award Ceremony Highlights
The awards ceremony kicked off with presentations by Clove Galilee (Project Support Assistant) and Shannon Parry (Chief Sustainability Officer) from the City of Santa Monica’s Office of Sustainability and the Environment, along with Susy Borlido, Co-Executive Director of Sustainable Works. Each business winner was invited to the stage to receive a beautiful award handcrafted from post-consumer recycled glass and other sustainable materials. Winners also shared brief acceptance speeches highlighting their commitment to sustainability.
Networking & Celebration
Following the awards, guests enjoyed a lively networking session with delicious food and beverages provided by Back on the Beach Café, accompanied by local beer from Santa Monica Brew Works, who generously poured their signature 310 Lager.
