Congratulations to the 2026 Sustainable Quality Award Winners
Celebrating Sustainable Excellence at the 30th Annual Sustainable Quality Awards
The 30th Annual Sustainable Quality Awards (SQA), co-hosted by the City of Santa Monica and Sustainable Works, took place on April 29 at the beautiful Annenberg Community Beach House. The event honored the 2026 business award winners for their exceptional leadership and commitment to integrating sustainable practices into their operations.
Since its inception in 1994, the Sustainable Quality Awards program has recognized more than 243 awards presented to 180 local businesses, celebrating excellence in environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and economic vitality throughout the Santa Monica community.
Award Ceremony Highlights
The ceremony began with a welcome presentation from Clove Galilee, Project Support Assistant, followed by remarks from Santa Monica Mayor Caroline Torosis. Susy Borlido, Co-Executive Director of Sustainable Works, shared highlights and impact metrics from the Green Business Program, noting that all 2026 award winners currently hold Green Business Certifications.
Shannon Parry, Chief Sustainability Officer with the City of Santa Monica’s Office of Sustainability and the Environment, introduced each award recipient and invited them to the stage to receive a handcrafted award made from post-consumer recycled glass. Recipients shared brief acceptance remarks, reflecting on their sustainability journeys and the important role businesses play in advancing environmentally and socially responsible practices within the community.
The ceremony concluded with Tony Vazquez, member of the California Board of Equalization, presenting official commendations to each of the award recipients in recognition of their achievements and leadership in sustainability.
Networking & Celebration
Following the awards, guests enjoyed a lively networking session with delicious food and beverages provided by Back on the Beach Café, accompanied by Santa Monica Brew Works signature 310 Lager.
