What is a Green Living Workshop?
A Green Living Workshop is a place to come together with others in the community who are interested in doing more to protect their health and the health of the planet.

Learn about current environmental issues and get solutions that not only protect the environment, but save money. To help implement these solutions, participants receive weekly resource saving tools and can even earn a special gift bag filled with additional eco‐tools

Green Living Workshops meet for an hour and a half, once a week, for six weeks at the same location. The cost is $50 for the six week series. The workshops are free for Santa Monica residents/$25 suggested donation.

We meet at locations all around Santa Monica and are happy to arrange a workshop in your neighborhood!

Our Sustainable WorksBook is a comprehensive and up to date resource guide that provides valuable information and recommendations in six resource areas. Each chapter increases one's understanding of the local, regional, and global environmental impact of their daily choices.

Our program helps residents:

• divert solid waste through recycling
• become water efficient
• eliminate toxic chemicals
• minimize transportation impacts
• reduce energy use
• and learn to make better consumer choices

Each week a trained Instructor facilitates the hour and a half meeting. Instructors educate on the weekly topic and review specific solutions that reduce participants' environmental impact and improve their quality of life. Each of the six meetings engages residents in hands‐on, interactive and educational experiences.

Depending on funding availability Sustainable Works will also provide tools for implementing our solutions, such as reusable bags, compact fluorescent light bulbs or coupons to local sustainable businesses.

What are the program requirements?
In order to receive a certificate of completion and resource saving goodie bags, participants must;

• Attend all 6 meetings
• Complete the Sustainability Survey
• Implement at least three of the topic solutions
• Pay the required $50 fee. The workshop is free for Santa Monica residents; there is a suggested donation of $25
