Sustainable Works activates sustainable behaviors through education and interactive events that foster healthy and equitable communities and heal our natural environment. 

Sustainable Works is an environmental education organization and is currently a project of Community Partners serving Los Angeles area — Santa Monica, Culver City, West Hollywood, and City of Los Angeles. Our work is made possible by municipalities, our program participants, grants, individual donors, and in-kind service donations from Santa Monica College.

Thank you for attending the Environmental Documentary Screening of Rancher, Farmer, Fisherman & Green Prize Awards!

The Green Prize is a book award, presented by Santa Monica's Public Library and the Office of Sustainability and the Environment. In 2007, the Green Prize was created in order to recognize the authors, illustrators, photographers and publishers whose goal is to broaden the public's awareness of sustainability. Both adult and children's books are honored. To date, the Green Prize for Sustainable Literature has recognized over a hundred titles. 


Malibu bans restaurants from giving out plastic straws, stirrers and utensils

During every visit to the beach, Sheila Morovati, her husband and their two kids each pick up at least 10 pieces of trash. Almost always, every item is made of plastic: straws, bottle caps, lids, forks.
