Thank you for attending the Documentary Screening of We Are Guardians presented by the City of Santa Monica and Sustainable Works on June 7th!

We had an amazing panel discussion with the film’s Directors, Producers, Cinematographers and Editors Edivan Guajajara, Chelsea Greene and Rob Grobman, as well as Puyr Tembé, who was featured in the film. The panel was moderated by Lili Flores, scholar and activist. We did things a little different this time with Puyr starting of by speaking directly to the audience with the help of translator Laysa Mathias. After that, we let the audience ask most of the questions. One question led to a fascinating story about how the film makers connected with and befriended one of the loggers. They helped him when he got sick and are assisting him to find work that can help the Amazon rather than destroying it.

As always, our goal is to educate and follow that education up with action. Here are the action items we offered at the film screening. Please make a commitment to do something and share it with us; Post on Sustainable Works Facebook Wall, Tweet with our handle @sustainablework, connect at #sustainablesm or send us an email gina.garcia@sustainableworks.org
